HI There! I was having exaclty the same issue. I talked with supprt and apparently is a bug for version 2024.10. In theory they are fixing it for the next version. For now, version 2024.6 is working fine for me.

Is there a way to keep my marker list in timecode and color order by default? When I add or edit a marker, my marker list goes into backward timecode order (MC 2018.12.13). I have to keep resorting by timecode, then by color (so I can look at all my VFX markers as a group, etc.).
