I am doing a bit of tutorial via Skype with a junior editor. He has been experiencing the same problem. We managed to get his timelines to draw waveforms, but the option still does not show up in the Group Clips dialogue box. Strange.

I rebuilt my settings from scratch when I moved from version 5.0.3 to verison 8.4. I am now in 8.5. It has been showing up in both 8.4 and 8.5. It's definitely intermittent. Based on the fact that upgrading to version 8 effectively shuts down my version 5 Avid, I'm going to pass on the upgrade. I can't take the chance that version 8 won't work properly right out of the gate and I have no option to fire up my old system to meet a deadline. Not worth the risk. Barry
