No need to use DOS when there are several free apps that will automatically re-mount on boot your virtual drives for you. I used to use this 10 years ago when the MediaFiles folder would reach capacity of 5000 items on my external USB drive. MC 2022.12.3. On 4 different towers, I have had white-screen lock-ups which task manager cannot kill the Avid Editor process. The only way out is to hard kill the PC by holding the power button in for 4 seconds. Anyone else seen the behaviour?

I can't answer your question but something that I find annoying is we have multiple clients, but it is the same freelance editors who use our edit facility. We use Windows domain log-in for everything and is integrated in the Nexis Client to allow only the clients own Nexis workspaces to be visible to themselves. Each client has their own log-in

Are you installing patches via the link app? ....if you can even install patches via the linkapp.

Does the media which stutters on the timeline, stutter when played back in the source window? Also, does the playback head stutter or is it just the overlay and audio that exhibit the symptoms?

I have noticed ther tone generator in the audio tool only plays for a second before muting itself.

For Blackmagic card issues, I use BM Media Express app that is bundled with the driver software. If you can output a picture through it, your card and drivers are usually OK and the issue lays with Media Composer.

I rolled back to 2022.12.3 which works fine. This issue was known about by Avid. The quick work around is to put the bin into script mode which will allow adding comments.

AMC 2022.12.4: On a bin created with 2022.12.4, the comments column is not saved. On a bin created on an earler version of AMC, it will save the comments using 2022.12.4.
