• Re: Has anyone tested the new MC 2021.2 on M1 machines?
Sorry Mercer, but most people in that thread would edit in BRAW. Just insane for what I learned in the past. Obviously the M1 is not enough, you wouldn't need a machine, you need a spaceship!
That's simply not true David, Braw is a very light codec for a raw one, because of the way it is partly debayered
Can you get access to a Thunderbolt 3 Raid to test if there's any lag? LaCie Rugged may not be robust enough.
Yes it's almost certain to be the hard drive. That's a single spinner speed. I've had many such drives during remote work from TV companies, all for UK broadcast just HD, usually only
Same Teo. Working with Resolve with my Mini 16GB and just impressive. Anyway Pro Tools Rosetta just came out. I think MC is going to come out
That doesn't seem to be the general experience with the M1 on Resolve from what I can see, now that some of the hype has settled, here is one such current thread

  • Re: Prores RAW support vs Canon Raw & XAVC SI

I would think Timeto it is best to work with whichever codec is working currently best with Avid, if as I imagine that is your main choice of editing/finishing system. I mean any workable raw process on the face of it would seem to offer huge benefits but that is not to discount the traditional 'baked in' codecs - it's all about the quality

Looks like a problem with your Localhost being blocked, perhaps a permissions thing but someone else will know more than me on that one.

Can't enlarge that image Philip, so you may want to post it again. I'm sure this has been mentioned to you somewhere in this long thread but background rendering, transcoding etc. can take up quite a few pc resources that could offset the productivity of rendering on the go. I've always disabled it but then I'm muscle memoried into ctrl

  • Re: Nvidia driver conflict with latest MC

So you checked the Task manger, Start Up and there is no InstallShield? This is why it is looping, I'm sure, and if it is then the only option is to do a completely clean install, removing everything Avid. Since Ralph has referred you to support, I think their help will get you going better than I could. This same thing happened to me a while back

Check Task manager>Start Up tab, and make sure there's an item called 'InstallShield' by Flexera Software LLC and it's enabled. If not restore your installation folder to the location you had it (e.g. desktop) before you deleted and point the recurring installation to it.
Just updated MC to latest version AND installed the recommended Nvidia driver. MC is seizing and crashing with error messages indicating a bad MC Nvidia driver. Any updates or work arounds out there?
Michael, try a clean unistall/install of the Nvidia Quadro driver. Disable the Intel integrated GPU in bios too

  • Re: Prores RAW support vs Canon Raw & XAVC SI

The point is you can edit it in Avid - you can't with Resolve yet, for example. The question is more is it worth shooting on it, if you don't have software that can use it to the full. You will have no more latitude with ProRes Raw in Avid with or without Baselight than any other codec -it's currenly like a one light print for film - you
