  • Re: Not Supported: Apple has recently released OSX 10.6.4 (Snow Leopard).

I have a client asking if anyone has tried to install AVid 5.0 on a 2.66 GHz i7, Snow Leopard 10.6.4... Understand it's not supported, but are there known problems?

  • EQ and AudioSuite Not Rendering on Perf Slipped Subclips

System with following specs: Mac OS X 10.5.8 QT Pro 7.6.4 Avid MC 4.0.5.3 Avid Project: 1080, 23.976 fps, WAVE(OMF), 24-bit, 48 kHz, DNxHD 36 Unity Client 5.1.3 Unity Server 5.1.3 EQ and Audio Suite render fine with regular subclips... Until you perf slip. Then the render seems to happen -- you can even find the render file on the Unity... But the blue

  • Re: No Sound TC on Tracks 2+ on Imported BWF

I haven't a clue... What's the difference? The goal is to get the Sound TC metadata to reflect on all tracks so we can get an accurate EDL for each track, not just Track 1... Is there a difference in how metadata is recorded on BWF-M and BWF-P? I don't understand why the Avid wouldn't preserve the metadata for each track so a list can

  • No Sound TC on Tracks 2+ on Imported BWF

Client is running 3.5.13 of Media Composer. He imports 3 track BWF files. The timecode for these files shows up in the bin, but only track 1 shows Sound TC... Other tracks read 00:00:00:00. He is trying to make an EDL and events are listed for tracks 2 & 3, but the timecode reads all zeros... He opened the files in a third party application and

  • Audio Gain Bug?

I have EQ effects on my audio. The audio also has a clip gain value of -40 db. When I render the EQ effect, the audio plays back at 0 db, instead of the very low level of -40 db. But in the mixer window, it still says the clip gain level is -40 db. Anyone else seen this? Work arounds? Media Composer 3.53. I remember seeing this also on 3.13.

  • Trim Mode Bug in 3.5.x?

Editor has sync lock on for all tracks. He tries to trim only certain tracks, and it will not do it. I can see how sometimes this would be the normal way that sync lock works, if there is no way for it to keep sync with the trim you're trying to do. But in the 2 cases he called me in for, there was no reason why the trim couldn't be done without

  • Metadata Problem in 3.5.9???

Material captured 1080P DNx115, from DVC-Pro... Then transcoded to DV-25 in a 23.98 SD project... The bin, however, still shows the format as 1080P, although the clips are properly transcoded to SD DV-25... The clips play and I can edit with them... This isn't purely academic... I have had numerous crashes related to these clips. I don't crash

  • Yes I Have a Dongle Problem...

Sorry, I see the "Got a Dongle Problem" thread pinned, but the link within is broken... Long story short, I am supporting a system that was installed two weeks ago. Dongle came from a reputable vendor and I am 100% sure it is licensed. 3.5. Dongle licensed for 3.5x... 14 days after install, the software apparently thinks it has come to the

  • Why Can't I Perf Slip a Subclip from One Source

My telecine house played it loose with synch on DV-Cam tapes. I inheireted the show from an assistant editor who did not import the audio as files, autosynch and perf slip. As a result, I have a bunch of sublicips from DV-25 sources where the picture and audio originate from the same tape. I'd like to be able to perf slip these, but the Avid will
