  • Re: What about Media log?

You're right on point Pat! I’ve spoken to Avid VPs at NDA meetings at NAB and private visits to our facility for more than 3 years now about this very thing. The company’s unwillingness to even consider modifying Media Log or any other Avid software to allow for this is something I still don’t understand. I can only hope if customers

  • Re: That whole thing about "4x3 safe" inside a 16x9 show

Yes this is something that is common place at the moment. We do basically what you said. We create 2 shows depending on the content. 1 for 4x3 and the other 4 16x9. Some shows don't need a pan & scan some do. In situations where affiliates are not consitent with delivery of content we create all graphics in HD but have the action settle in the

  • Re: Let's Discuss Interplay

  • Re: Read news while waiting for Avid to render...

Well as an Old School Newshound I would have to say no. There are plenty of other things to do while an effect is rendering. You can review your script, screen shots through your laptop in the database and countless others. Unless the RSS is giving you information that's helping you meet your deadline I would say it's a distraction that will

  • Re: Photoshop - across the Interplay network

We've done this from the beginning with Interplay and never had any problems. Your on the right track with the Graphics workspace, but this workspace should not be indexed by Interplay. Interplay should only index Avid media files only. The graphics files or any non-avid asset should be attached to the project for indexing. How we accomplish this

  • Re: 1:1 10 bit SD Project and Timeline/Sequence

Your on course. Just open a new 30i project and start ingesting media. The 8bit and 10bit should play in the same timeline, but you may have to transcode the 8bit for digital cut.
