  • Re: Multicam sequence in the source monitor - how do I get split playback?

Not quite the same thing but.... I don't cut multicam a lot but I seem to remember you can have a quad split in the source monitor and have the reference/client monitor show the selected - green underlined - video full screen. I've tried every combination of settings in the preferences/composer settings/multicam tab but the reference monitor

  • Re: NO Improvement with MC 2022.12.4, Blackmagic, and Mac Studio

Lots of us - nervous about disturbing the almost functional setups we have - would really appreciate reports on how this new driver is working on Mac Silicon instalations, my particular interest is in how it's working with MacStudio. Posting full info about your configuration would be really helpful.

  • Re: Mac Studio and UltraStudio Monitor 3g dropped frames and audio

One of the most frustrating things about the current M1 / BMD situation is the inconsistancy in experience that different editors are having. I had a setup that was stable running OSX 12.6.8 MC 22.100 and BMD 12.4, just the odd dropped frame loss of sync playing long sections of cutting copy but editing functions all good. I was encouraged by Niven

  • Impossible to downgrade

I'm working on an M1 mac with Ultrastudio Monitor 3G MC Ultimate installed. I had been running 22.10.0 with BMD 12.4 (I think) reasonably successfully but with the odd bit of dropped audio and loss of sync. Most importantly all editing functions - including good responsive trimming - working well enough in the everyday world of cutting drama and

  • Re: Duplicating a clip in the timeline?

Actually the usefulness of segment mode + option drag doesn't stop at a single clip, it works with a sequence. Every now and again I want to duplicate a sequence in the same timeline - making an alternative version that has only slight changes is an obvious case. I use 'select in to out' (it's on my keyboard as a shortcut) and option

  • Re: Which version did Avid fix Frameflex?

We've just taken a project off frameflex source settings and achieved the correct aspect ratio using the mask margins setting in the project 'Format' tab then enabling 'Target Mask' in the source / record composer windows. Simpler to set up, less error prone, tidier timeline and most inportantly, better for multi layer Vfx, particularly

  • Re: Advise on new video I/O card.

Hi Stefan I had an almost identical setup, 2010 MacPro and MX02. Now running with the Blackmagic Mini Monitor card and an SSD in one of the hard drive trays just for the system and Media Composer. Very stable, more than fast enough. Opening media composer or bins much improved, auto saving no longer slows the workflow. I've just finished a 7 month

  • Re: Mac Book Air and BlackMagic Mini Monitor

Earlier this year I used an Air with Thunderbolt Blackmagic MiniMonitor very successfully for 24p screenings. Picture quality was excellent, very much better than that available using the Air's HDMI output. The complication is on the audio side. With the Mini Monitor audio is embedded in the HDMI or SDI out so either the connection at the previewtheatre

  • Re: Can't remap F keys on old Apple Pro a1048 Avid-Style Keyboard

This is my keyboard of choice and I use it on a MacPro 2010 running 10.10.5 with no problem. I have it in both the bluetooth and wired versions. The 'F' keys and the pref pane that enables their function as standard keys works as you would expect. Right now I'm cutting with it on a windows based setup, working fine. User prefs don't
