I see. Well, this may sound weird but I had an almost exact similar spec machine running 2018.12.15 and we had a lot of issues with it and the thnig that ended up fixing it was removing 2 sticks of RAM from it. We also had 64GB and we took it down to 32GB and that fixed our issues. It wasn't bad RAM either
Does it beachball in other programs too or just Avid? Is the system generally quite crashy even when Avid is closed? Andi
Just the Avid beachballs. Everything else appears to be working just fine
what version of macos? was the project created prior to 2022.10 and moved over? did you FULLY rebuild user settings?
MacOS: 11.5.2 (Big Sur) - which I believe is compliant for 2022.10. In terms of the Avid project: I started cutting with it in a post-house (Mac Avid MC 2018.12). Then I moved to my own Avid system

I've just started work in a production company where the Avid is constantly stalling (beach ball of death) and crashing out of Avid entirely. For example, if I try to export the Avid crashes before finishing the export. This is the hardware/OS setup, which I believe should be compliant with 2022.10: Mac Pro (late 2013) CPU: 3.7 GHz Quad-Core Intel
I've just tried this fix and it's made the problem worse; I don't even get as far as the error page now, Media Composer just fails with the all too familiar "Send Report to Avid' option. I've had two other queries about this from two other users in past few days. Any other thoughts on fix
I use sift in the bin. Select the key search requirements (you have 3 choices that can be AND that can then be OR'd with 3 more AND choices so pretty powerful. You can select specific columns and have Contains, begins with or matches exactly. That gives you a bin of clips that match that search. In thumb view

This would be a powerful feature on documentary projects, where often you have thousands of clips which are logged with keywords, such as date, location, subject. My idea is that you could use Find to search for specific keywords (e.g. "Trump", "2022", "London" etc) and then you would just drag the search results from the
Interesting request! I wonder if you've tried Cntrl clicking the video monitor icon in the track targeting panel? That will "solo" the title and temporarily disable all the other layers in your sequence.
Thanks for the response. That doesn't quite do what I'm after, I'm afraid

I often need to toggle the video background for a title on/off and currently the only way to do this is to "Edit Title" and thus open up the Title Tool, which is time-consuming when you're doing this on a series of titlecards. It would greatly speed the process if there were an option to do this within the Effect Editor. It's a small
