Just had a look in that folder Pat ... all that's there is another folder with an exe file 'Create New User' ... I've re-installed Resolve 10 for the time being - looking into those Quadro 4000 cards.

Thanks for that Pat - I think I'll go the Quadro 4000 route: I've had problems in the past with Restore Points. In the meantime, I'll stick with Resolve 10 - it seems to work OK. For what little I do with it anyay! Like they say - if it aint broke, why fix it! But, the FX1800 card is getting a bit long in the tooth now I think! So again

I'm running MC v 6, with an FX1800 graphic card, driver version in the Device Manager is stated as being 9.18.3.1090 I have installed devinci's Resoilve 11 - Resolve 10 ran OK, but 11 is telling me the Cuda driver needs updating. My knowledge of these things is very low - I assume that means updating the nVidia driver, but I am also aware the

Thanks again Luca - that rather takes some of the wind out of the MC sails (and sales, maybe!?). Thanks too for the way to re-order stacked effects. Dumping the effects into a bin and then restructuring the effect - I should have thought of that! It is along the lines I use to save an 'adjusted' effect for use elsewhere - open the effects editor

Thanks for the reply and workaround, uncomfortable though it is. I find itt pretty amazing actually. I still have Liquid on an old hardly ever used PC - which fortunately (through laziness) is still in my home network. That should do it without any problem - I'll just send the clips to that. Failing that, Pinnacle Studio is here somewhere too .

Using Media Composer MC 6.04 I am creating the illusion of someone being held in a glass jar. The jar is being held and moved. The person inside the jar is beating at the jar. There is a background image. I have the hand holding the jar, against a green screen on the top track, V3. The green screen is masked out using the BCC ChromaKey filter. On the

Like BenoitM I was 'lured' (happily I might add) into moving from the death thoes of Liquid to MC (4.5), the alternative being ... Edius. MC would have been a nightmare without the patient, polite and fast help of everyone on these forums and Douglas's highly focused tutorials. I'm now/still with MC6 - moving up to a later version isn't

Downloaded! Looks a pretty powerful programme. I'll explore it more when I have time...
-
Some extremely useful tips in there Andrew - thanks! I have already got all the clips in their correct order on the timeline, each with a 2 seconds start and finish leeway, but haven't done the 'global' in and out point setting you suggest - that will be my next job. Also, since all images will now need the P&Z filter applied, that's
-
Yes I agree absolutely - I have started using the technique Kenton suggested - all the stills were 'storyboarded' on the timeline anyway (it's how I began the project) with good leeway. All I have to do is replace the 3D warp effect I started placing on each (to correct size and ratios etc) with the P&Z and load in the graphic again
