Yes. This bugs me immensely. There's a coder somewhere who felt it wasn't important to "reach" or "see" the desktop (like the people who designed Resolve's interface). And so it's really awkward to refer to scripts in the background, drag and drop files, click-jump to an open window or application and more. Very frustrating

I ended up deleting the .AVP project and adjoining settings files and creating a brand new one (leaving the bins, of course) and that solved THAT problem. Still found the software very prone to crashes with imports (even drag & drop). Not sure how much is related to new vs old project stuff as I have yet to start working in an entirely new project

Thx. At least I know I'm not going crazy. Still wish the MC remebered the window positions and scale when I shrink them down to reveal the Finder in the background. It would make drag and drop easier to manage.

Anyone else having import and export issues with the Catalina MC software? There’s a lot of file types that it no longe recognizes or even wants to make itself. And I find myself not importing files by transcoding anymore. The source browser method is finicky as heck. And import media gives me a lot of “nope. Can’t do” errors

I render out of AE as Lossless with Alpha as MOV files to a folder in my project (Call it "Renders" or whatever) . Then I option-drag the files to a bin. They have to play from the OS directly...no reimporting works for me.

Whenever I want to open a project after the MC startup screen appears, I click on a project from my list and I get a ??? error and it won’t load. So I go to my Mac’s desktop and double click the AVP project file I want to open and I still get the ??? error, but after I do this I can then double click the project I want in the project window
