Love this rock-steady early-2015 Macbook Pro (refurbished by the lovely Kasia, if any Londoners need a Mac medic:) and just bought a refurbished Macbook Air for all that online stuff. All the more devoted to dongle activation! Thanks as ever:)

Thanks, both - and didn't realise about the bit-jump. (My Mac doctor says she's sticking with Mojave, even though she earns a living fiddling around very efficiently with all the latest blah blah.) Maybe it's time to dis-aggregate video editing and have a separate system for everything else - like in the old days:)

Thinking to upgrade OS from Mojave to Monterey, the most recent my MBP will take. Sadly, version matrix tells me 'Monterey - no dongles'. Next, a quick scroll through the forum implies MC 2022.7 is a relatively stable version, but it's not mentioned in the version matrix. Any advice gratefully received! (Would love to stick to dongle-activated

Just searched for 'adjust image duration when importing' and this is tantalising! Natisyahu, you know how - can you share with me? (Love this forum and have been missing it in retirement - dipping back in for a couple of tiny projects...)

No scrub here either - mapped to timeline but nothing. (Remembering shift or capslock in the old days, but hey) - a real hassle in the current project! Help?

Just posting thanks all round - to Customer Care (once prompted to follow through by Raff Condalor) and to Roger S. for the book. Here's to finally doing some editing for the first time in months. Best to all

Thanks - saw this link when I'd already got to the end of my tether. The question-tree it led to was the end of the line for me, last night... but your answer is encouragement to continue. Fingers crossed - but thanks for Raff email just in case

Hangovers from a brief flirtation with Catalina were troubling this Macbook Pro. So last week a professional made a clean re-install of OS 10.14.6. I then downloaded new copies of MC 2020-10 (along with the Read-Me recommended 'Pro Video Formats') PLUS the Media Composer Legacy Components installer. (Most of my work will be HD, and use the Titler

I'll hold off re-installing in case Roger's book turns up before the weekend - pretty sure it'll still be a boon; so much of the architecture has changed since I trained at VET in the late 90s, and have been missing a hard-copy manual since MC7.0...
