• Re: Resolve - Avid worklow with different frame rate

I would handle the input into Resolve in your case especially as you are going to grade in Resolve. Open a Resolve project at your delivery frame rate. Input the media. Make sure you have optical flow setup for retiming. Create a new bin for each different footage frame rate. Create a new timeline for each different frame rate. String out each different
So you are capturing to BM's Media Express, Andrew?
No. From a VHS or DV/HDV or Umatic HiBandSP or Beta SP or HDCAM into my BM Hyperdeck. This unit has 2 mounting slots for portable SSD drives and 2 high speed card slots. If I choose to deinterlace and or scale. (SD 4:3 to double size with sidebars and output
Why the need to capture in Resolve?
There is no NEED! The process described was to avoid linking into MC and the possible issues that has been causing Roger. My preferred choice , if I have to capture, is capture is directly to a hard drive or media card in the BM Hyperdeck. I "Link" this into a Resolve

Hi Steve, Is your footage interlace or progressive? I would guess there is a remote possibility that if it is interlace you may be getting a upper and lower field order disturbance. Somewhere in MC settings there always was a ensure 8 field comparability option that may help. Sorry I no current Title Tool experience to help you with as I gave up using
should these SD files be imported as DV25 411 or as Pro Res?
For about 20 years I would record any really old VHS tapes and Umatic tapes to to a DV deck using the composite input. More recently SVHS out to a HDV deck. Then capture from that DV deck originally via Firewire to DV format and later SDI to SD MXF. Sony

Then start the install from there. As Carl says for best ProTools advice join the forum for audio products here:
