I'm pulling up some clips from 2016 that are AMA linked using QuickTime that are offline. Trying to update the links with a UME version of Media Composer (2024.12) can find the original sources but it fails to relink. Metadata and file path are the same only the Plug-in used to decode the file has changed and there's no way to override it in

As a rule every Avid project is compatible with earlier projects. Any functions or features that were introduced in the interim won't be backwards compatible as that would disturb the time/space continum (you can't be compatbile with something that wasn't yet released or invented). Read the release notes regarding any specific changes that

Start here: https://kb.avid.com/pkb/articles/en_US/Knowledge/en394827 Since one of your machines is working, try to determine any differences between the systems: hardware, RAM, OS version, MC version, AMA plug-ins, etc. Also, try quitting and restarting Media Composer if the error shows up. Admittedly not a surefire method, but sometimes it does the

There's yet another way: Use MDVx and a bin containing the clips that you want to send corresponding media. It's a free program that scans your MXF or OMFI folders and can then intersect a bin with the media you have online. You can then copy the media that corresponds the to the clips in a bin. It's like reveal file, only it's global

Note: Avid NEXIS Client software does not

Avid likes to send the audio to where the video is going. If you use a Blackmagic device for video, the audio is going to try to go there as well. I use 2 Blackmagic SDI to Analog de-embedders to get 8 discreet channels out of Media Composer and feed those analog outputs into a mixer for monitoring. UltraStudio can output up to 16 channels of embedded

There are 2 additional files added when any bin is shared in a Unity/Nexis environment that have the bin name followed either .log or .lck. The .log file keeps a history of who accessed the bin and when. The .lck file controls what read/write privlidges you have on that bin. Sometimes a computer crashes and a open bin lock file doesn't get removed

Seems like your drive is going offline due to sleeping HDs or a disconnect. Some things to try to help diagnose the problem: 1. After the computer sleeps, select the drives(s) in the Finder and double click them to get a directory. That will spin them up if they were slumbering. Then go back to Media Composer once the drives respond. 2. Move some media

Almost there... Compatibility matrix correctly states up to OSX 14.3 but Read Me incorrectly states only OSX 14.1 - 14.2.
