  • Frame i.o integration improvements?

Are there any plans for Avid to improve on their Frame i.o integration? It would be great to link a Frame i.o project directly to an Avid project and simply upload your timeline directly from the NLE (as per Premiere, Resolve and I think Final Cut?). For now, we're stuck with the old fashioned export, upload via browser process. Thanks

  • Re: Best CPU for Avid MC - i9, Ryzen 3950X or Threadripper?

Hi Pat, Resolve tend to recommend a single "killer" GPU nowadays over 2 x GPU setups. With that in mind, I think it should be achievable to tick off the Avid requirements and if anything, Resolve is straight forward in terms of it'a personal requirements. I'm really interested to hear from any Threadripper users with AMD now being

Good morning. Now Avid have qualified the AMD Threadripper CPU, has anyone successfully bought into this for Media Composer use and do you have any issues? https://www.amd.com/system/files/documents/avid-media-composers-solution-brief-radeon-provii.pdf I want to build two high-end workstations for Online work using Media Composer in a shared Nexis environment

  • Re: New Method for Relinking AMA Files

It's pretty basic media management but here's a brief way to deal with it. Backup your camera card to storage on drive "V" AMA link your files from drive "V" into a bin and call that bin "210114_CamA_ShotsOfOutside AMA" Once linked, disk label all those clips with the same name as the bin "210114_CamA_ShotsOfOutside"

I agree with Pat. A best practice approach would be to have some sort of central storage that is drive-mapped and set to auto-connect under the same letter at each boot. You could RAID some spare drives internally if you machine would allow this or use an external drive caddy or go to lengths of using a NAS for your project media. Once the project is

That's exactly what I was looking at along with Distribution processing. Thanks for the link.

Quit Media Composer and delete the following settings from the directory below: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Avid Media Composer\Settings MCState Site_Attributes Site_Settings Restart Media Composer and see if that helps. If not, what I/O are you using and is it active and communicating with Media Composer? (Should be labelled at the top of the screen

  • Allow/Deny access to certain features

I was at IBC a few years ago and was demo'd a function to allow/deny access to features within Media Composer. i.e. turn off access to capture tool, media creation, deletion of clips, sequences etc so as to not overwhelm a user or allow a user to accidently click something they shouldn't in a shared working environment. Ideally, I'd like

  • Re: MC + ProRes + Windows announcement

On a related note, ProRes QT file exports from a Mac running the latest version still incorrectly tags the metadata as Rec709 colour spacewhen working in a HDR colour space. Can this be added to the fix list? Thanks

  • Re: MC + ProRes + Windows announcement

Is there any news on this along with BM RAW? Also, will this mean Media Composer exports will now have the correct colour space profile metadata baked into the output file? i.e. Currently working in a Rec.2020 colourspace and will render out a file flagged as Rec.709 which isn't ideal. The actual file is still output in HDR, but the file metadata
