I am what is usually termed a senior editor, which refers to the fact I've been editing for some time, over 30 years in fact. As a video editor this means I started editing in linear tape suites and moved to non-linear (Avid predominantly) all the way back to MC Version 1. I have always found the out-point logic, frankly illogical. Out points in

Marty, This is a feature I would also love to see one day. It's something I have to do at the start of every show I work on. I receive a basic EDL and need to convert the resulting sequence into a sequence of group clips which I have prepared prior to receiving the EDL. I do have a workaround which makes use of reverse match frame into a source

I recently made a specific request to avid to restore the original functionality even if it's optional. I've also asked for a retrospective way of reassigning the destination avid source track after it has been imported. Apparently, as I thought, MC is using deeper level metadata from the source BWAV to assign it to an avid track. However, as

Nice idea. If not that, or as well as... The ability to right click on a marker and 'Reveal marker in list' Perry

Revealing the track name metadata on the timeline is apprently a feature in MC 2023. I haven't tried it myself as 2023 loses an important fix I need from a 2022 patch I'm using. What you can't do however is reveal the track names in either the timeline 'switch tracks' menu or by right clicking a track in a muticam group. I've

Like many things, loudness plugins are well integrated with MC. Yes you can use third party plugins on the master fader but their windows can't be pinned anywhere. Audio plugins can't be integrated into a workspace and keep floating so you're constantly moving them around. Also, the current accumulated loudness doesn't store anywhere

Totally in agreement. I have made a specific feature request for the ability to zoom in fully dynamically and not 25% increments and to be able to view outside the canvas when zoomed in. DS did this beautifully and that was an Avid product 20 years ago! Apart from animatte, if you're zoomed in and to one side of the image and try to add a tracking

Spanned markers could be very powerful indeed if given a bit of TLC. Here's my thought... Currently you can only add 'timeline' spanned markers. They don't move dynamically as you edit within the markers so you can't use them for updating durations as you go. if you could create a span marker from two clip based markers, then the

Hi Andi, I made a feature request recently asking for sequence templates to also store audio track plugins and track names (it might already do the latter but I don't use templates because of the lack of the former) My generic sequence 'template' which is a sequence in a bin, contains 6 video tracks and 16 audio tracks with about 30 track

I don't use the comments column but I have noticed an inability to add text into a user defined column for anything not actually connected to media. So for example, you can add text to a user defined column for Clips, Subclips etc but NOT for Sequences, effects, tiimewwarps etc. Furthermoure, I have a large number of generic bins created in previous
