  • Re: Matrox MX02 mini output problem

If you hook up the crappy old monitor via HDMI, does it still work? If so, you then know you either have a bad converter box or cable to your new monitor.

  • Re: DVD by Sonic

If you're using AVID DVD for authoring, you can master to a DLT tape for 'replication', not duplication. A feature of replication can be the addition of copy-protect, but you need to realize many many copies to amortize the costs of DVD replication v. duplication. Use the HELP feature in AVID DVD to learn more. If you're burning to a

  • Re: 5.0.3.9 Patch and the Smart Tool

Yes - in Symphony Nitris Classic 5.0.3.9: when using either the trim tool or FX tool for the 1st time when opening a new or exisiting project, and then returning to source/record editing, the ST comes on. Hitting the TC timeline track defeats it, and usually it won't reappear until opening another project, although occasionally it pops on again

  • Re: how to bypass mxo2 mini audio?

Thanks, mjolnarn - I've though of that, am just trying to obviate any unnecessary cabling, and think there should be a setting that will defeat/bypass the need for audio to run through the matrox. Unfortunately not documented... Anyone?

  • how to bypass mxo2 mini audio?

After receiving a replacement card from matrox yesterday, my mxo2 mini is now functioning w/ MC 5.0.3.9 on a m6500 laptop. Along w/ picture, the matrox also routes the audio to pass through it, necessitating an outboard mixer which would be great not to have to use w/ the mxo2. Is there a way to defeat or bypass the audio routing w/ the mxo2 hooked

  • Re: Finding the Right Laptop

Here's a link to the approved-spec PCs for MC: http://tinyurl.com/3q3aw6m You have to scroll past the desktops to see the laptops... If you depend on your laptop regularly for pro work, it will pay to go for an approved model. I've been using an HP nw9440 when I'm Avid-ly mobile for a few years, and even though no longer approved for MC

  • Re: Blue Ray Poor Quality

Recently started to use Avid DVD 6.1.1 for simple blu-ray authoring. Export QT ref from Avid, compress in Squeeze - tried both the Sorenson MPEG4 (creating an .mp4 file for picture) and Squeeze's "Blu-ray" setting (which creates a .m2v file), both realized w/ a 2 passVBR, avg. 24000kb. What I discovered was that Avid DVD will transcode

  • Re: Video Output Settings Affect Monitor Calibration?!

Are you feeding the monitor HD-SDI out of the NitrisDX? If your other HD-SDI output from the Nitris looks OK (say to a deck), perhaps you have a bad (non-sync) connection to the monitor - doesn't sound like an 'adjustment' on the monitor, more about receiving a correct feed.
