Attnded an AVID meeting in the spring that indicated a new Titler program would be coming for MC 8 in the 3rd quarter. Is this planned? I have been very frustrated with the lack of a title plugin beyond the current Titler. I have purchased New Blue FX Titler 5 but the quality of the text edges, and the inconsistant operation of the program is less than

While I have 8.3 loaded on an external SSD, my day in day out system on the trashcan is OS 10.9.2 and the MC 7.0.3 that still supports PhraseFind. My external card is the BMD Ultra 4K, running on an old version of SW that still works. Crashes once a week if I get too agressive in the timeline scrubbing.

I'll second the EditReady method. But really, Sony needs to address this.

Another option I use when incorporating 4K XAVC-s footage is to export the camera files in Edit Ready to a 4K .mov file, then link via AMA in MC so that, in an HD timeline, you can resize the 4K image to your liking in MC, then Transcode that timeline.

Would an AVID moderator confirm or deny the PhraseFind/ScriptSync functionality for licensed users in 7.0.5?

A 6 sec title effect, 3 min render time? A better titler plugin suggestion?

Excellent advice. Will the Avid MC load from a dedicated external HD if the computer is booted ( opt D) from the external drive?

XAVC into MC is very simple. AMA link the mxf files into a bin, then select all, and Consolidate the links. It simply changes the wrapper, and writes those files into your media drive. You'll want to clean up the bin by deleting the AMA linked files.

Could anyone speak to the OS, and BMD desktop version needed to run MC 8.4 and the BMD Ultra 4K ?
