Re: MC 2018.12.15 Background transcode service not starting (once again).
Good work Jeroen, this has been driving me mad for a while. Adding the .ini file cured the issue. Regards Richard

Re: NDI -SDI -Audio Delay
For anyone else out there suffering from this AV sync issue, I raised a case with Avid and it is a known problem, bug MCCET-3777 It is fixed in 2021.2, 2019.12.4 and 2018.12.15, which are all available now. Hope that helps, Richard

Re: NDI -SDI -Audio Delay
The best solution I've found is to enable the NDI output in media composer, then create a virtual webcam with the free software from NDI.tv, feed this into Google Meet and send the end users the link. Local and remote feeds all in sync. Here's the guide https://avid.secure.force.com/pkb/articles/en_US/how_to/stream-MC-video-NDI

Re: NDI -SDI -Audio Delay
Hi Nigel, we have exactly the same problem. Our editors are working remotely at present due to the pandemic and with the Avid hardware disabled, all works really well with local desktop audio in sync. What we'd like to do is use the NDI stream for remote viewings, but there seems no way to get the audio and video in sync with local audio enabled

Re: Trouble playing back footage in real time in MC
The only observations I can make from your specs are that 10.10.3 is not a qualified OS for MC 8.6.1. It should be a simple operation to upgrade to 10.10.5, maybe backup your system first via Time Machine. You could also try your media on something other than a USB3 drive. USB drives are not recommended for media due to the load on the CPU.

Quantel AVC-intra100 media
Hopefully someone can shed some light on the following. We have received some media back from an external grade as op1a AVC-intra100 mxf This can be AMA linked and consolidated onto our storage, no problem so far. The problems arise when we cut in some of our existing AVC-intra media such as opening titles etc. Although Avid can play the sequence back

Re: std::exception
We also get this error when scrubbing at random intervals with MC8.3 and OSX 10.8.5 I have been advised by support to try the MC 8.3.1 update. I'll post the results here.

Re: Can't AMA-play Panasonic P2 clips on Avid MC 8.3
Hi there, I don't believe MC8.3 is qualified to run on any version of Mountain Lion other than 10.8.5 This could be your problem.

Re: Slow and choppy playback on 8.3.0
We have had the same problem with MC8.3 running on Mavericks 10.9.5 with an Eclipse. Updating the Blackmagic drivers to 10.3.7 (was 10.3.5) seems to have cured the issue.

Re: Moving Avid Media Files and re-pointing Avid to them
One method would be to create seperate partitions on your external disk, perhaps named after your individual projects. Each partition could then have the \AvidMediafiles\MXF\1 folder. Just mount the partition required for the current project.
