  • Re: Odd "EQ-like" problem

Cool, I'll try the Invert method that Larry mentioned tomorrow first thing. Do you know why modifying the gain of a related clip would trigger that? I'll give the Invert method a shot, and also try deleting one of the two tracks to see if that fixes it. Assuming it's the phase issue then I'll just use one track in that spot since it's only temp music

  • Odd "EQ-like" problem

Hello- We're running into a really strange audio problem that is making some of our temp music sound like it's been EQ-ed when it hasn't. I was wondering if anyone has seen this. Basically, there's one track of temp music (it's been cut up a bit into multiple clips) in a sequence that's about 18 minutes long (and contains many other pieces of temp music

  • Re: Are You Getting Bus Errors?

Oh cool, I'd be interested to hear how that goes. I've been delaying trying 2.7.5 because we're in the middle of production, but if it seems to fix more bugs from 2.7.2/3 than are newly introduced in 2.7.5, maybe it's worth a test run. --Evan

  • Re: Huge number of bin copies in the Attic

Yeah, after I posted my message yesterday I cleaned the whole Attic out to give us a fresh start, and at that time I also made sure everyone's attic settings were uniform. The problem seems to be limited to two out of the five machines, but today again those two machines made upwards of 50 copies of various bins inside the Attic folder. I've checked
  • Huge number of bin copies in the Attic

Hello- So I just surprisingly ran out of space on the Projects workspace on our Unity, and when I looked at what was hogging all of the disk space, I discovered that our Attic is enormous, and way bigger than it ever should be. Some Attic folders have 400-someodd versions of a bin, which is way above the settings we have listed inside MCA. In fact we
  • Re: Are You Getting Bus Errors?

Hi- Does anyone have any suggestions for resolving bus errors that seem to happen mostly when working with audio? I've been running MCA 2.7.2 for a few months now on an 8-core Mac Pro. I wasn't really crashing at all up until I started editing audio, and now I crash out with a bus error three times a day or more. I've done and redone all the permissions

  • Re: Full screen application window

Oh cool, thanks for the Think recommendation. I see the flash you're talking about, but even with that it's still a good step in the right direction. @FunkyDragon: At first the lack of contained, Windows-like applications bothered me, too, being a Windows user first and now a regular user of both Windows and OSX. I got used to it and just marked it
  • Full screen application window

This is a super-trivial request, but it would be great if Avid (I'm on MCA and XpressPro) had an application window in OSX that took up the full screen, instead of having the desktop poking through (or in other words, steal one thing from Windows apps). Apple's Color program does this, as do most of their FCS2 applications for that matter, so it's clearly
  • Re: trimming oddity, insists on play/loop...

Isn't this Avid's behavior when your space bar is set to the Play button (as is I think the default in newer versions of MC)? Can you check if your space bar is set to Play or Stop? Just in a quick test on 2.7.2, if I stopped trimming using the space bar when it's set to be a Play button, it goes to Play/Loop. It doesn't do that when I set my space
