  • Re: Retiming Quicktimes

As Sycophant said, and having browsed around the Quicktime Kit for Cocoa-based applications, it seems like it would be fairly straightforward for someone who knows how to use Xcode. That would at least take care of the Mac side of things (nudge nudge to any Xcoders out there). Maybe when my current film ends I'll take a stab at learning how to make

Oh cool, that will do exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks! --Evan

Import... Occasionally our DI or VFX house gives me Quicktimes at the wrong frame rate, and I either have to put it into its own folder and then use Cinema Tools, or request a new render before importing into MC. That's too bad there doesn't seem to be a tool available. One would think that if both Cinema Tools and Compressor can do it in batch

  • Retiming Quicktimes

Hello- Wasn't sure where to put this question, but does anyone know of a quick way to retime a Quicktime, i.e. change the fps information on a Quicktime from 24 to 23.98? You can do it in Cinema Tools in batch, and it's a bit of a hassle as it grabs all QTs in a folder without asking, but it works. I was wondering if there's an easy way

  • Re: Marquee - "Save All to Bin" Error

Ditto to what jacksonpro wrote. I asked the same question not too long ago and it went unanswered, too (see http://community.avid.com/forums/p/55398/309434.aspx#309434). Because of the lag when you switch back into MC/Xpress Pro (especially while on a Unity), the workaround of individually saving each title in Marquee is about the same in time for me

  • Re: Most Solid 2.7 release thus far?

We upgraded 6 machines a short while ago from 2.7.2 to 2.7.7 and have been much happier. But in that time we also moved up to MediaNetwork 5.0.1, so although our Bus Error crashes went down between 2.7.2 and 2.7.7, the bigger drop in crashes for us seems to have come from the upgrade from MN 4.2.3 to 5.0.1.

  • Marquee isn't Saving All to Bin

Hello- I'm trying to use the Autotitler function in Marquee, and all is going well up until I try to save the titles I've just created back to a bin inside MC 2.7.7. When I select "Save All to Bin...", it only saves the currently active title in Marquee, and not all of the other titles it's just created. It's been a year or so since I last used this

  • Re: Disk label not getting into edl

Oh, my apologies for not being clear. I didn't mean to imply that the labroll column itself is limited, only (as Michael says) that the character limitation is on the part of the EDL type. Doing your own test is of course the best option, but I believe that CMX 3600 has a 4-character limitation on the labroll as well, just since that's the type of EDL

  • Turning over Timewarps to DI

Hi- I'm just starting post on a film now, and by the end I expect that the other assistant editor and I will have to turn over information on several hundred timewarps to our DI company. What I've done in the past when turning over timewarps is to go through each shot and manually note the location and percentage value of each keyframe, and then combine

  • Re: Disk label not getting into edl

For the Labroll at least, and I would presume this holds true for the Soundroll, we've found that the max character count for your Labroll is 4. So, if like the telecine house we used, your labroll comes in as 000123, you would need to shorten that to 0123 in order for it to show up in an EDL. Also, if you're cutting from subclips, simply changing the
