  • Re: XDV 4.8.1 & Quicktime Version

Thanks. Now I have to figure out how to go back to that version. Maybe if I reinstall DVDSP that will bring it back. The previous version QT installers from Apple all say "a more recent version is already installed" so I can't down-grade that way. I hope I don't have to reinstall the OS.

  • XDV 4.8.1 & Quicktime Version

Does anybody know the latest version of Quicktime which will work with Xpress DV 4.8.1? I have QT 7.1.2 and the XDV source playback window jumps to the end while playing a clip (but displays properly on a FW connected monitor). I assume I should not have updated QT recently. I'll have to see if I can find the link to previous versions of QT...

  • AudioSuite Time Compression Expansion

I am using audio Time Compression Expansion for the first time. I create a new sequence and edit in an audio clip. Say the whole clip (and sequence) is 18;16. When I open Time Compression Expansion, the Length is 0:20.192 and the TC End is 00:00:20:05.17. All settings are default. I don't understand why they both are not 18;16 when I open the tool.

  • Re: Source Window Playback Speed

BLKDOG: Hold down the "K" key and use "L" and "J" to go back and forth. Thanks. That works. Does Avid have a name for this? I'm trying to figure out why I did not see it in the help files. I guess there is only one slow speed (forward and reverse)? Thanks. I learned something new.

  • Source Window Playback Speed

Is it possible to play AND hear footage in the source window at less than 1x speed (half speed, quarter speed)? I know I can go faster than 1x, but I can not remember how to go slower. I could not find an answer in the Avid help files nor here in the forums. (I know I can do a motion effect and render it, but that is not what I am talking about. I just

  • Re: outputting timecode

I have XDV 4.8.1 so I guess that explains why I don't have it.

Is the timecode effect in Xpress DV or just Pro. I can't find it in my version of DV.

  • Re: Rename Bin Error

Repairing permissions did not fix it. Using a new Avid user and opening an existing project did not fix it either. Creating a new project didn't help either. I also changed the permissions to read/write/execute for the entire contents of /Users/Shared/XpressDV/ which did no good.

  • Re: Rename Bin Error

Sorry. 777 means everybody can read, write and execute. 666 means everybody can read & write. Yes, I do have read/write on my Avid Projects folder where my bins are stored. I did repair permissions when this problem first appeared, but I will do it again now and see.
