This may have been covered on another forum but why clamour for MojoDX HD monitoring outputs when MC has full screen playback modus? It worked okay with v6.5 I haven't had to use full screen playback professionally - I'm still moving slowly from Meredien v12 to a fully fledged MC HD setup (coming sometime soon) - so feel free to enlighten me

Hi Job, thanks for that info!

if your footage is anamorphic and you switch to 16:9 monitor you don't need to reformat. Anamorphic in is anamorphic out. I always work with 50i unless a 25p master or a neg cut needs to be done. 50i also allows an online on almost all Avids (my onliner is an MC1000XL). P projects have less resolutions available. Someone else may now a reason why

Hi Richard, there are no tarifs on the import of software into the EU, the only real add-on would be freight. Thanks again folks!

Marianna! Blkdog! What wonderful people you are! Where do we post the Swiss chocolate Easter bunnies!

Hi Blkdog, even after subtracting the highest Euro VAT (Ireland's 21%) from the €500 price, the AXP -> MC upgrade is still 30% more expensive to buy in Europe than it is in the US. The VAT free price of Media Composer software is €2149, an approx. 35% marrk up on the US price. I can appreciate that international companies don't want to have

Hi Blkdog The Europe pricing is in the FAQ, but I'm still troubled by a 30% markup (after deducting VAT) for an English-language product. Granted Apple uses the same 1:0.85 exchange rate sleight of hand (but with a German-language menu and manual for FCP), but it is very, very unfair for us here in Europe. It would be great if Avid could explain

The price in Germany for Media Composer software has been updated on the website: it's "crashed" to €2600 - that's a shade over $4000. The AXP -> MC upgrade is €500 ($782). Even after subtracting German VAT, that's $656 net, a 30% hike over US prices. I'd love to hear Tewksbury jor Avid Germany's reasoning for that.

At least Avid Netherlands has managed to put it on the website (even if it is "out of stock"). Avid Germany doesn't seem to know it exists (but you can buy Media Composer software for €4,700 - that's only $7,400!). Did Tewksbury tell their branches what was happening this week?
