Hey, QT refs were crashing for me until I stopped exporting QT Refs with audio. Without audio, no problem. However, I noticed I needed to de-select my audio tracks but select audio output for my Qt Refs; just check "enabled tracks" only and you still have a Qt ref without audio, I hope that makes sense? At least that was my workaround... I

Hey, If you have Boris CC installed (shoud have come with your MC package) then I would use Chroma key and combine different matte chokers and a light wrap (All Boris plugins) to get a WAAAAAY better result.
