Read news while waiting for Avid to render...

We are considering launching an application that would allow Avid users to read RSS feeds of thier choice while waiting for the render process to complete.

As you are AVID users, does this sound of interest?

I quit smoking a few years ago for many reasons, but one of them was that render times became much less than they used to be.

Would I be interested? Sure, but only if it is quick and easy to interface with. If I get 10 minutes per day to browse, I'd like not to spend three of those days learning how to interface with a clunky thing.

Well as an Old School Newshound I would have to say no.  There are plenty of other things to do while an effect is rendering.  You can review your script, screen shots through your laptop in the database and countless others.  Unless the RSS is giving you information that's helping you meet your deadline I would say it's a distraction that will cause missed slots and errors in finshed pieces in the end.

    Thanks,

    Dennis
