Capture HDV in FCP and edit Prores in MC5

    Hello All

I love working on Avid and just ordered the new MC5 upgrade.

Unfortunately the place I work for is all FCP. We use Sony V1U and capture via the Sony HDV Deck into FCP as Prores 422

My question is....Will I be able to capture as above and then import the ProRes files into MC5 and keep the HD resolution. Do the complete edit. Export either QT Ref and import to Compressor to compress for SD DVD. Or export direct from Avid to Mpeg2 for DVD.

The final product is a SD DVD that we burn on DVD Studio Pro.

Is there any quality loss? Will it be slow to edit ProRes files in MC5?

Another question..... Can audio levels be changed while the timeline is playing as you listen to the audio? If so does it create all the keyframes as you adjust the sliders?

Is there any Alpha channel support in DnxHD coming soon?

    Thank You
