Everything works except capturing via FW. I have a DSR-1500a connected to an Analog Mojo. Mojo is connected to the H xw8400 native FW port (back connector). Deck control is Serial. This config has worked for years. If the Video/Audio is set to FW, I get errors about the 1394 bus or discontinuity in timecode. When I switch to Component, it works fine. More diags & research are needed.

It seems to work fine for me on my HP8710w set up. I've already captured about 6 hours of footage.

What deck/camera? Direct connect, or pass-thru a Mojo? Serial deck control, or FW?
I captured through my old Panasonic DVX-102A...straight through firewire port of my HP8710w. Seems to me all the function works in MC. I haven't try connecting MOJO yet. Did the MOJO work for you? I'm on Window7/32 bits Ultimate by the way.
Mojo works fine on Win 7 Pro 64. Although, I thought it was broken, even before the Win 7 upgrade. I could only get blue when outputting Component. Then I found a setting in Video Output Tool ... "SD Cal". It must also be set to Component. Kinda wish it would just follow ... :(
So I tried installing MC 3.5 on my windows 7 32-bit OS and it doesn't want to install fully. The installation will stop at aorund 80% and not budge from there, while it says "Copying new files". At this point my external dvd-rom drive stops making any sort of noise (like it just gives up). I've downloaded the drivers for my video card and I still have the same problem. Every other Avid product will install except MC 3.5, so does anyone know what this problem is? If so, how can I fix this?
This message popped up before i installed the new video card drivers:
Error 1305. Error reading from file C:\ProgramFiles\Avid\Utilities\nVidia\WINXP\169.47_quadro_winxp2k_english_whql.exe. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.
help please.
Maybe try to download the installer from the Avid website and reinstall it. it happened to me once before and I thought it was the installing disk that gave me the problem.
and where exactly can i find this installer on the avid website?
Here it is:
