Typically use the still image export to export a bunch of vfx thumbnail reference based on markers and their comment names. Recently upgraded to studio ultra on os 13.4 ventura and the avid goes through the motions of exporting the files but then nothing is physically exported to my drive. Going to try a clean install but curious if anyone else is having this issue.

I just checked the limitations of 2023.3.x and dont see this and then I checked the bog log and dont see it there either so - please report back if it happens after a clean install so I can get it looked at.

Hi Marianna,

Full uninstall, full reinstall didn't seem to help. Still getting the same behaviour. The export bar comes up like it is exporting a file but then there is nothing in any of the destination locations i've tried. I have tried local and external drives all that i have full access to as i thought perhaps it was a permissions issue. Still can't successfull export images however.

Can I ask if you have tried exporting your markers as stills on a fresh user setting?

Also have you tried this in another project?

Just trying to elimate other causes as I am on a similar system (M2 Max) and have done this recently with exporting marker stills without issue.

Yes I've tried a fresh project and user settigns with the same result.

I may try reinstalling ventura and see if that resolves anything. It's very weird as I have just exported aafs, movie files, wav files, etc and all other exports I do regularly seem to be working. Just the images.

Just an update on progress...

can't reinstall OS today as I'm working remotely.  However I have tried removing MCstate both for app and user. No effect.

Tried creating images in other applications like Affinity photo, preview etc to eliminate OS being the actual culprit. All other apps were able to open/export stills in jpeg and other formats no issues to all drives.

Is there any idea's from that end that I can try to resolve this? I have more shows lockign and the thought of manually screengrabbing stills does not appeal as you can imagine. Can we move this to a case number or something or perhaps have someone take a look when you can? I guessing in the dark as this is something that just usual works by default. Can't imagine a setting that would not allow stills.

Okay so rolled back to 2023.3.0 and still images work again. I was on 2023.3.1 for the blackmagic fix as I have a ultrastudio 4k mini as well so i guess it is a fix stills or fix blackmagic choice. 

Now that it has worked immediately upon installing 2023.3.0 i'll try moving up again with a clean install but perhaps this gives you something to look at on your end?

Rolled fwd to 2023.3.1 and images still working. Have no idea what's going on.  Do I need the legacy installer that is posted with this version? We have editors still using traditional title tool titles.  Will I need this to see those?

You won't be able to install the legacy installer tools on an M series Mac or any Mac running an OS version passed MacOS 10.4 Mojave.

Hi there just wanted to note that I too am having trouble exporting stills out of Avid 2023.12.0

Am on Monterey 12.7.2

Haven't had a problem exporting JPGs till I upgraded to 2023.12

Any solutions that doesnt involve rolling back to an older version?

Maybe share an image of your export settings with us... I just tried exporting a jpg and png on my system and it works no problem.

I thought there was trouble exporting a still image here on the PC.....that turned out to be a size setting in the export settings set to 0x0 pixels.....changing it cleared it up.
