Chinese / Japanese fonts and media composer issues -- solution

I was having issues with using Chinese and Japanese fonts with the subcap effect. Subcap recognized the Adobe japanese and chinese fonts, but errored when rendering or exporting.  I'm running Media Composer 2020 and Windows 10 but I assume this solution would work on older versions, and perhaps if anyone has issues with title tool.

I discovered that Arial Unicode MS has many foreign language versions but isn't installed by default, so you need to download it.  Then to install you have to specifically right click and “install for all users” so it will appear in Media composer.  Using this font solved the issues I was having with the subcap effect.
