Hi all,
I'm ingesting footage shot in SLog3 on a Sony A7III. When I link to the files, Avid automatically sees the source color as "full range" and applies a color transformation of "Levels scaling (full range to video levels)".
The preferred LUT we want to apply, which Avid contains, is "SonyS3C SLog3-SG3.Cine to LC-709TypeA".
Would the correct procedure be to remove Avid's automatic "Levels scaling (full range to video levels)" color transform and only apply the LC-709TypeA?
If I clear all transforms, and use the LC-709TypeA and then add the levels scaling as well, the effect of adding the levels scaling is the blacks become less crushed and the colors less saturated.
I appreciate any thoughts anyone might have. Thank you.
Bret
Yes that sounds right.
Remember you can do all the clips in the bin in one go.
