Writing this post as I could not find a laid out workflow anywhere for ingesting/importing overcranked 59.94 footage into a 23.98 Avid project as slow motion.
Please comment if you have any adjustments or tips!
Using MC 8.8.5
1) AMA Link the 59.94 footage. Right click > Source Settings > Playback Rates: Choose Playback Frame Rate: "Project's FPS (23.976)" [NOT "Clip's FPS (59.940)"]
2) Right Click > Consolidate/Transcode > Transcode > Choose "Convert to project frame rate" [NOT "Keep source's frame rate"]
3) Transcoded/imported clip now plays back in slow motion!
AMA link the clips into your 23.98 project. Go to source settings for the clip. go to the playback rate tab. change from clip to project fps and your 59.94 will play frame for frame at 23.98

You can also just change the playback rate source setting of the transcoded clip, instead of the linked one, after you ingest.
