Applying animatte to a clip, when going into effect mode and trying to draw a matte the viewer flashes between a negative image and normal whenever the cursor is moved. No matte is drawn and force quit is needed to get out. It is a fresh install of MC software. Only happens on one machine.
MC 8.9.1 OS 10.12.6

Happens also using region stabilize effect but not tracker in Blend 3D

There is a bug with (I believe) the free drawing tool. Do you have issues if you use another tool (like rectangle or oval)?
-- Kevin
Yes it happens when using rectangle tool in animatte... its a major problem for me as I use the mattes all the time for selective grading and graffix etc. Strange that it effects Region Stabilize and not the tracker in Blend 3D...same effect really

I'm having the same issues. It happens to me with all the Animatte tools. Rect, Poly, Oval, Curve, etc. I'm in Avid MC 8.9.1
I'm having all kinds of issues with my antimatte tool. did you guys find anything?
I'm having the same issue. Would love to know when this is resolved. Thanks!
Whew! I thought I was alone on this, but obviously not. Animatte has gone to the dogs quickly. It used to be rock solid, but now, I have the Key In/Key Out modes reverse on me in mid-build; deleting keyframes becomes deleting points instead; the outline or handles disappear(s), making it very hard to be precise. What happened to this tool that was once a workhorse??? Please address this before I have to hear some punk telling me how easy he does it in Premiere Pro...
Hi All,
Having a similar problem here in 8.7.2 but only on my editors system.
Whenever he enters the animatte effect the V2 layer disappears and he can only view the bottom layer so cannot draw an animatte.
The strange thing is that this has worked for him previously and he was able to succesfully draw an animatte. However, when I go to edit the effects he previously drew, the footage goes negative (and green) and won't allow me to change.
Did anyone find a solution?
Many Thanks,
I have encountered other issues recently with the Animatte tool.
When adjusting the curves or position of the line, the line sometimes disapears. This also happenes when adjusting the curves in the mask making it near impossible to make fine adjustments.
looking forward to the fix on this!!
A suggeation-
Can you make it so you can change colors of the mask lines? To differentiate between multiple masks.
Thanks Marianna

Not sure which version of avid you're on but they might have fixed this bug.
I remember a quick fix to the dissapearing line was to open up your color info window in tools and close it. Not sure who discovered that or how but it worked for me to bring back the matte lines.
Also, I completely agree with you about changing matte line colors. Would be very helpful.
