    Checkin and download media

    Hi All,

I am just getting used to AVID applications and solutions, we have setup the following

    1. Interplay Production

    2. ISIS Storage.

    I have the following questions.

    1. How do I checkin media files like .mov and .ts using Interplay Access?

    2. How to download the media with interplay web services?

    Re: Checkin and download media

    Hi,

Interplay Production contains assets with metadata only, media typically goes to Nexis/ISIS

mov and ts files have to be transcoded into Avid supported format OpAtom MXF and metadata AAF before it could be added into Interplay.

Interplay web services do not handle media. It is possible to get media file locations of the assets then retrieve media from the location.

    Re: Checkin and download media

    Thanks Vadym,

Thats great, assume I checked in a MXF file. How do I retrive the media with Rest/Soap API or some SDK that interfaces with ISIS?

Alternately, can I download a proxy of the original video with IPWS APIs. For instance the "GetStreamingURL". How do I configure Interplay/ISIS to achieve this?

    Thanks,

    Radha

    Re: Checkin and download media

Only AAF files can be imported (checked-in) into Interplay. MXF files stay on the Nexis/ISIS workspace.

Non-AAF files will be treated as non-Avid assets making them not available to Avid products to process.

Nexis workspaces can be mounted using Nexis client as a regular Windows file share. Then you can access files on it as any other files, mind the large block read/writes are highly recommended. You'll need a machine that satisfies Nexis connection requirements to do this (network card, cables, configuration)

You can also use AMT SDK to export/import files from/to Interplay that will be running on the box with proper Nexis connection.

IPWS handles metadata only in this case and AMT is capable of using IPWS to figure out files location.

    Hi Radha,

Also I forgot to mention the Avid Media Connector service (AMC) that may actually do what you need and is controllable through REST API.

Please contact us at the following page for info and pricing
