I posted last week on AE of FB but didn't get any answers so I'll post again here.
When I try to export a SAS qt to a network drive (either Editshare or Synology NAS) I get the error: UPDATE_MOVIE_RESOURCE_FAILED
I can export to a local drive with no problem, only network drives are a problem.
The network drives are mounted with SMB (Native SMB on Editshare). If I use AFP mount on Editshare there is no problem except for a known 2GB file size limitation. If I use the third party DaveSMB it works, but I was hoping to avoid this as we have quite a few Mac suites.
I've tried various combinations of OSX 10.10 and 10.11 and Avid MC 7-8.6.5.
I have 5 Macs all giving the same error, various old Mac Pro, MacbookPro and Mac Minis.
So on the one hand it seems like a Mac problem with SMB, but on the other hand it's only SAS exports so seems like something weird is up with Avid and Quicktime.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
cheers
Campbell
Are you saying that non-SAS exports (custom) do work? Or that all QuickTime exports fail on SMB-connected drives?

It just seems to be SAS exports. I've tried H264 and PhotoJpeg codecs as well as Custom settings to DNxHD and they all work. But SAS to DV or DNxHD give me that error message.
