I downloaded and installed an eval version of Media Composer a couple of days ago, and just got a chance to try it this afternoon. What I've found is that it's basically not usable. The font scaling is WAY out of whack; text is overlapping the text in neighboring fields, much of it is cut off... I can't even tell what format settings I have for my timeline, though it's obviously wrong since the images are squashed, indicating an obviously incorrect aspect ratio... but setting the format is an excercise in guesswork, since the mangled fonts make almost everythin in the UI that's text-based nearly unreadable.
Any ideas about how to fix this? I'm running on a machine with 16GB ram, an nVidia 960M GPU, and an UHD display, Intel Corei7 (quad).
Hey there.....
I heard back from our hardware guys this morning after we communicated back and forth on email last night. here is the scoop....
The laptop you have ( Asus Zenbook, with 16GB ram, core i7, SSD storage, nVidia 960M GPU. The screen is 15", UHD ) seems to meet the minimum requirements.
This laptop has a UHD screen and the resolution appears to be set too high. The inability to read the screen is the type of thing that happens with resolution too high.
You should set to 1900 x 1200 with standard text character size and hopefully the issue will go away.
BTW..... To adjust the text character display size go to:
Control Panel
Appearance and Personalization
Display
“Make it easier to read what’s on your screen” – set to 100%
You may have set this to Medium 125% or Larger 150% to compensate for the high resolution setting of the screen) , this currently doesn’t work well with the M/C GUI. Using a screen resolution of 1900 x 1200 and text to 100% is what we have found as the limitation until the GUI is fixed to accommodate the higher resolution screens.

My notebook is the ASUS ZenBook UX501VW
Thanks
Have you tried this?
