I've been trying to work out how many hours have been worked on a project. Checking on the useage tab it said the project was opened on February 3rd 2014 but that only 4 hour and 11 minutes had been worked on the project. I would have expected it to be more in the region of 1240 hours. Does Avid MC autromatically reset the hours at 999 as it can't go to a 1000? Is there another way to find out how long a project has been open, other than via the simple usage tab? Is it easy to reset the hours yet still leave everything else in the project as it was?
David Street:I've been trying to work out how many hours have been worked on a project.
What I do is launch the project, then look at the clock. I then add the project to my Google Calendar at the start time. When I stop working on the project for the day I look at the clock again and put the end time in the calendar.
At the end of the week I add up the times worked on each project and bill the client(s) accordingly. If I wanted to get a tally of total time worked, I just look at the past invoices.

I don't think the Usage statistics have ever been supported for billing purposes. I just don't think they are that reliable.

I totally take your point and Avid make it very clear not to use it for billing purposes.
I'm just trying to find out for a rough understanding of how long a job has taken - more especailly forfuture scheduling.
If the counter does reset it self at 999 or 1000 hours then that really helps.
If it doesn't then it must have been accidentally reset and I have to forget about it as a possibility for guidnace.
