    Core Consistency Check Failure

Avid Media Composer 7.02 w/Symphony option.Windows 7 Pro. HP Z800 24 GB ram, Nitris DX. Nvidia Quadro 3800. WD Black 1 TB system drive. 4 Esata 4TB GRaid media drives. Footage was shot on a JVC GY-HM750 35Mbps XDCAM-EX.

I load the footage from the SD cards onto one of the Graid drives. AMA link to the footage and start editing. It has worked this way for more than a year but now it works for a while then the Core Consistency Check failure is popping up regularly. This is from different projects shot on different days with different chips. The only constants are the camera and the PC. I have moved the media from the Graid to an Avid raid box but it still errors out. I reinstalled Avid TWICE. Uninstalled all the AMA plugins. Uninstalled Avid FX. Nothing seems to help. I ran chkdsk on the system drive. Checked the media drives, no erros found.

Also, as a side note Avid Pan & Zoom will not work on this system. It crashes Avid everytime you try to pick a picture file. Hard crash, Avid exits and you have to restart. I know I must be missing something with this but I am not sure what else to try.

I checked the CPU cooler. If not clogged radiator.

I ran the load test (Intel) processor and possibly graphics card ... etc.

    Re: Core Consistency Check Failure

I was just in there a month ago. Cleaned it out at that point. But I will check it again.

I managed to narrow it down and found the piece of video that Avid was not happy with. Replaced it from a backup drive and it is working fine now. Avid should really work on that error message though. If it would tell me that the file had a problem I would be able to fix it without bothering anyone here. Also, once that Core Consistency Check error starts Avid is unusable until your close it and restart. Even good clips refuse to play. Makes tracking down a bad one that much more difficult. Thanks for your suggestions. Still need help with the Pan & Zoom error but that is nto pressing today.

Yes, that's the problem. Avid sometimes give problems in the console, but only sometimes specify the frame problem.
With the Avid Pan and Zoom can not help, years ago I began using Avid FX. Wink
