Artist Mix surface not being seen by MC

    Hi.

I have a case open on this, but maybe someone here can help.

I have a new Artist Mix console and am plugging it into MC 5.0.3 running under OSX 10.6.8.  EuContol software version 2.6.2

I've got EuControl seeing & "claming" the surface to my computer.  The next step is to open MC and select "Avid/Euphonix" in the Controller Settings tab... but its not there.  All I get is "None, "002Controller" & "Command|8" as Controller options.

However, under "Port" selections, I DO have "Control Surface Euphonix Port 1", "... Port 2", etc.

BTW, my controller is in Ethernet Port 2, with regular network on Ethernet Port 1.

So, any suggestions?  Thanks in advance for your help.

    Cheers,

    -Gray

Dont the install instructions for those controllers on Mac suggest you need to use them on Ethernet port 1? ( I think there maybe a posted workaround for this)

FWIW with 10.6.8 here I replugged my regular network domain cable into port 2 and the Eucon device to Port one and both work fine. As a precaution I setup the recommended Static IP's (and subnet masks)  for my device and Ethernet port 1. Two other things I did when setting this up were clicking the Clear Assignments button in the EuCon settings and reinstalling Eucon.

    Hi,

have you got the latest 2.7.1 eucon software installed?

Does the surface show up on your EuControl app? Both in All Surfaces as in My surfaces under the Surfaces Tab?

Yep got the latest eucon software but the app doesnt seem to do anyting when launched. Can you show me a screen grab of this Surfaces Tab so I can see what you are talking about? I actually got it working a while ago, but then I power cycled it and now I've got nothing again.

How do you connect the Artist Mix? If you connect it directly to the workstation I think you need to use a Crossover Cable.

On the other hand you can check the IP settings of your network adapter and the Artist Mix, if it is DHCP or Static IP configuration. You can find in the user guide how to set this up.

Re: Artist Mix surface not being seen by MC

I'm taking this into work today. It's a large and well respected facility in London. I'm dreading it to be honest...I'll be gutted if I get some lazy engineer that can't work it out and tells me that it can't be done. I'm on this job until the end of the year. After a lot swearing last night, I finally managed to get it working on my Mac at home. The benefits seem like a no brainer to me. I'll keep you posted, thanks for the help so far folks.

No it does not. Not sure why though.

No idea really, something to do with IP addresse's. The engineer and the IT guy did all of it. Love being able to make audio adjustments without stopping. A shame there are no buttons for track select and gang. Eq control would be nice too. Here's hoping that I'll never work another job without it again.

    YesYes good to hear,

yes, you have to be a bit IP savvy to know how to connect it inside a bigger network (like big edit facilities, with shared storage over ethernet...)
