Hi there,
I am looking for a way to uninstall the Sony AMA plug-ins.
I just installed them and now I can't open my Avid MC (version 5.5.2) any more!
Any hints? Thanks!

Do you get an error? What happens?

Ok, I just found out it wasn't the Sony AMA plug-in causing the problem.
I had an open bin with AMA-connected clips and didn't have all the necessary AMA drivers installed. That caused the crashes as soon as I opened the project.
Thanks for the reply, anyways!
Anyways, how can I uninstall these plug-ins?
The Sony readme said, I should uninstall the plugin before uninstalling Avid, but I am not sure, where I can find the files on my computer (Mac) to delete them.
hi mirjaavid,
you can find your ama-plugins at:
mac_hd/library/application support/avid/avx2_plugins
good luck

Thanks! I wasn't sure about it because these files didn't have yesterday's date, that's when I installed them. Maybe someone installed them before.
Everyone keeps offering this route but there is no "AVX2_Plug-Ins" folder under the Avid folder after Application support on my computer... ugh I'm having a real hard time here, can anyone help me out?

MAC or PC ?
The path discussed here is for Mac, of course. Also note that the parent folder is /Library, not the /Library folder under your OS user (and hidden in later versions of the OS).

This was the problem, I was going under the wrong Library route. Thanks, guys. Unfortunately my C300 footage still won't link up, though it seems that this may be a permanent bug because everyone else on separate threads are having the same problem (failure / exception notices when trying to read the AMA files)
I use C300 regularly without issue.
It worked fine for me as well before I upgraded to 8.2. Now I can't even read the ama files from my previous timelines
What version of the plugin are you using? For Canon, I have v2.0.
Have you tried selecting the plugin directly when AMA-ing instead of Autodetect?
I have 2.0 and have tried selecting the XF plugin directly rather than Auto. I still get the same "Failure: Cannot access the AMA Media Stream plugin to play this clip".
There seems to be lots of other people having the same problem, seems that half can access them via AMA and half cannot. I wish we could figure out what the secret obstacle is here.
