Open the R:\Avid MediaFiles\MXF\1 folder and delete the two msmMMOB database files

After you delete those two msm files, you should see the system go into a scanning and indexing mode. For complete safety, I recommend you quit the application before you do this. Then, on re-launch, the system will detect the missing files and build new ones at the "Initializing Media Streams Manager" stage of the boot up.

And because you may have a lot of media on a large drive, it may take some time.  Don't panic.  It only usually has to do it once (except in this case).

Steve, I don't know who you are, but we are not talking about Access database files here.  As pointed out in the other thread, only Avid is the appropriate tool for handling Avid database files.

But I don't know why I'm responding really.  I suspect that "Steve" is actually a computer somewhere in China.

    Larry,

You have made my day my friend. I had this exact issue, was worried that I had lost my entire 2 day edit. Couldn't sleep at all last night. Then I followed your steps and by 9AM everything was up and running well.

Thanks so much for being part of the forum. You helped me out a lot!!!!!

I hope you have a great great weekend.
