I have been using this workflow without a problem until now. MC is giving this message: Exception: Sequence refers to non-existnt track in clip. Please turn off monitoring and re-edit references to the following clip. You may then re-enable monitoring., clip 1012TC01, missinfTrack:A1
Well, I have been bringing in DVCPro from AVCHD using the mainconcept program from panasonic. Once I do the transcode, and in MC, I go to File - Link to AMA file(then I go to the folder with the video and select the video), then I repeat the process and select the associated audio(normally there are 2 audio files linked with the video, I select all at one time)
Then MC brings them in without a problem, and in my sequence, I just drag the clip to the timeline, and everything has worked in the past. Now in my current project, after following the above process, and tried to drag the AMA clip to the timeline, I received the above message. How do I go about resolving this issue (*I have used this workflow before where when I drag the clip, V1,A1,A2 are all filled with the AMA clip)
Anyone with experience on this issue?
It sounds like Avid is not seeing all the AMA files.

When I drag the clip, I could see V1,A1 moving to the timeline but no A2. So I believe the audio only shows one track instead of two, as I used to see
Anyone can decipher what is generating the error and how to resolve it. I used panasonic maincept, then in avid, I use Link to AMA File, then navigate to the video folder and select it, then I repeat the same and select the audio(2 files generated).

The "Project" part of the name is replaced with either the actual project title or an obvious abbreviation of the title. I copy the full structure, so that I have "Project_001\CONTENTS\AUDIO", "Project_001\CONTENTS\VIDEO", and so on.
It doesn't quite match Avid's management of imported media, but it works for me. And it means that you don't have to expressly mount individual audio and video files. I suspect that's where your problem is occuring.
Try typing "repairsequences" in the Console while you have the sequence in opened.
Thanks for the workflow, it worked great, and Dom, thanks for your information

I copy the entire folder structure into a folder on a media drive, a separate folder for each memory card. I use a simple naming convention - usually something like "Project_001", "Project_002", and so on. Glad to help.
i think you dont have installed the AMA PLUG IN for AVCHD codec.

I have now the same problem, with the mxf files that are converted from my .mov files, which came out of the Atomos Ninja Blade and Star.
I have organised and renamed all my files now and it is a nightmare!!! Cannot play or edit or ANYTHING. But can't really understand on this forum how to solve it. Do I have to rename all files now again?
All sound and all video files?
Thanks in advance, Anita
Hello everyone,
I had the same problem in MC 8.4.5 and 8.6.5 and I found this:
I started with a folder with separated Video and Audio MXF files.
In MC I "Link to media" and select only VIDEO mxf files (order by size and you'll have all the video files first), then I open "link to media" again and link only AUDIO MXF files.
When I Consolidate/Trascode it works.
Regards.
