    Re: Windows 7 SP1 and MC 5.0x

I'm really curious about this as well.

MS has apparently already stated that some other updates may not work correctly as we move forward, making SP1 necessary in order to continue updating at some point.  I find that it can become difficult to hold off on updating too long since other apps start being designed to work with the most recent MS updates.  Obviously this isn't necessarily an issue yet give that SP1 JUST came out, but it would be nice to take advantage of the security updates in SP1.

I'd be curious (and quite thankful) to hear any experiences from anyone deciding to go ahead and give SP1 a try with Avid MC5.  I may try it myself since from what I've heard, SP1 is a rather "mild" update and mainly contains updates that have already been rolled out, but until then, I'm interested in hearing any information from others on this.

    Thanks,

    Larry

Everyone will recommend not to install it unless supported, that said:

I Installed SP1  a few hours ago and I've had no issues with MC 5.0.3.8 patch. Then again, I'm software only, but I've imported/exported footage, made some titles, added effects, switched different workspaces, etc....everything is snappy; but, I still made a backup of my hard drive just in case.

    Salud!
