Hey All, 

After hours of googling and tutorials I still have no answer. 

I'm editing a stop motion project in avid and all of my images import as 30 seconds long.  I am dealing with over 1000 images and need them to all be a frame each.  Is there any way to speed up or slow down multiple clips at once?  I've tried timewarp and it only lets me speed up a single image at a time.  Furthermore I tried applying the timewarp to a superior video track but "the effect does not apply".

If they're sequentially numbered they can be set to come in as individual frames.  If not, go into Script view in a bin and select all clips and hit Mark In, then advance one frame (the #4 key) and Mark Out.  Drag them all to the timeline.

As long as the files are sequentially numbered, under the options tab on the import tool window, activate "auto-detect sequential files" and a master clip will be created where each file is one single frame in duration.

are you sure your animation is all on singles?

will different work around if you need to be on doubles for your animation to run properly.....just checking

The selecting works, but when I MARK IN nothing happens. What do I phyisically have to do? I press I, otherwise there is no Mark In and Out except the columns in the Bin window. I was hoping to do a 3 frame edit which doesen't work with the sequential or any other way on the import.

Is the bin set to script view? You should just have to select all the clips, press I, press 4 twice, then press O.

Yes, everything as cmentioned in earlier ermail. There is no reaction, there should be happening something int the MARK IN column, right? It should jump there to the TC of the edit. Nothing happens. Zero.

Yes, I just tried it on my system and it worked. Here's what I did:

1. Change bin to script view

2. CTRL+A to select all items in bin

3. Press I to set in point. In TC appeared in the Mark IN column of all items

4. Press 4 3 times to move 3 frames forward

5. Press O to set out point. Out TC appeared in the Mark OUT column of all items. 0:03 appeared in the IN-OUT column of all items

Just to double-check, is that what you're doing?

I occasionally have issues with Carl's method which usually gets fixed by inserting 2 steps.

2 B.  Press  the T key.     Clears any existing (accidentally added) Mark In and Mark outs on all clips.
2 C.  Press the A key       Moves the Clips position indicator to the head of the all of the clips.

Makes no obvious sense, however I have never had a failure when using these 2 extra key strokes. 
In Script mode you can see the result of each keystroke through out the process. Easy to confirm each keystroke worked as expected.

Re: Stop motion, I recall seeing this Console command, but never actually tried it:

Set still image default frame duration

When importing an image via the Import dialog the length can only be specified in seconds. This command allows you to specify it down to a frame.

Cmd_setimportslidelength [number in frames]

Could be interesting especially if it somehow works with the Sequential setting.

Worked like a dream first time; now I can't get it to work at all... but knowing its possible without AfterEffects is smashing. Any obvious do/don't advice is welcome:)
