Clarification: MC5 box upgrade is less then download plus prod. suite?

I read the FAQ on this, but one aspect of the MC5 upgrade pricing seems odd to me, so I just want to make 100% sure I fully understand this.

It appears that if I do a "download" upgrade from MC3.5, it would be $395 plus $295 for the "production suite" if I choose to buy it.  This totals $690.  If, however, I do a "box" upgrade, it will be $495 for both MC5 AND the production suite software.  This means that the box version is substantially LESS expensive than the download version if the production suite is also purchased.

Since "download" versions are usually less expensive then boxed versions, I want to confirm that in this case, the opposite is true if the prod. suite is purchased -- i.e. that it doesn't make sense to buy the downloadable upgrade if I want the full production suite.  I just want to be 100% sure I'm not misinterpreting something here.

Thanks for clarifying this for me.

Larry, that's exactly right. The download upgrade is ALWAYS the basic Media Composer application (current price) $395.00. The production suite never has been and is not available as a download. If you want the production suite, you must by the box set to get it. And yes, right now at $495.00 for the box set it's a very sweet deal, because if you were to buy all of the software in that set separately, including Composer, the combined MSRPs would be approximately $6000. That's an 80% discount. And that upgrade offer ends tonight at midnight. So you need to act fast at this point and get yourself in under the wire. Time is running out.

Buying items separately is always more expensive than buying things together.

The cutoff is apparently July 10th (this is what the store page states), so there is still a little time left.

    Thanks,
