    bad quality of titles

Im having problem with quality of titles. What can be done about it?

When I create title in title tool it looks ok, like this...

but right after I save it (1:1 mxf resolution) and close title tool, it is displayed like this...

    And two more examples:

    Marquee:

    Record monitor:

My Video Quality Menu is set to Full Quality (green)

    Re: bad quality of titles

Is the quality bad when you play the timeline or only when it is stopped? Typically when the timeline is stopped you are only seeing a field not a full frame which is why the edges look jagged.

    Re: bad quality of titles

Unfortunately it's bad also when it's playing, it's all blurry. Same thing goes for pictures I import, they get blurry and poor quality. Can it be a graphic card issue?

I'm beginning to wonder if this "Soft Title Quality" is an AMD processor anomaly. Like pebe, I am running an AMD PC although mine is the 6400+ 3.21 GHz dual-core. Or maybe this character softness is caused by my nVidia 8800GT's rendering? This title quality degradation has been an on-going source of frustration to me as the softness is quite visable on the final product DVDs I create.

    Re: bad quality of titles

Its the same on new user settings. And the display resolution is set to highest quality. So I guess it could be a graphic card or processor issue, as danlasvegasnv mentioned. At least I know it's not just me. At work I dont have any problem with that, it's just at home where I have a worse computer.

    Re: bad quality of titles

Once you place the title on your timeline, do you go into the effect editor and turn on the HQ setting?

I tried to do that now that you asked, but HQ is greyed out, so cant turn it on.

You do not need to do any uninstalling or reinstalling. Just download the patch from the website and follow the prompts.

    Re: bad quality of titles

    Larry,

Do the patches need to be applied sequentially, or can I just apply the latest patch which will include all the previous patches.  I have MC Verson 4.0.5 installed.

    Thanks
