I could be wrong but this looks to me like Media Composer version 5.

Hey anybody know what the next version's going to be?

..just remembered v5 only went up to AVR 27 then it jumped to 70,75,77. I never understood where Avid got all those AVR numbers from.  Where they just making them up?

I know the guy in the video.  He assisted on a picture here in the states that I apprenticed on.  Wow.

The hard drives in the video look like the groundbreaking later and larger capacity models... the 9 or possibly even the 18 gig versions.  It reminds me of the previous generation 2 and 3 gig models that were twice the size and weight (like a 8 pound lunchbox).  Of course today a TB fits in your pocket and weigh next to nothing.  Times change.

In 1996, I was working on Media Composer v6.5 (ABVB based), with the Media Dock tower - 4 drives, 9 gigs each. Turnkey system price: just under $100,000 not including the Betacam deck.
