It seems that there are a couple of folks here who have managed to get Win7 to work with MC. Those who have done so successfully - which version of Win 7 are you using (Home Premium, Pro of Ulitmate) and does it matter which one you load?
Windows 7 Professional x64
That's the only version I've tried
Remember, though, your particular hardware vastly affects whether or not you will have a successful time of it (that's my caveat :-)
Cheers
Steve

I know three people with stand alone platforms in the DC area who are successfully running MC 4.0.5 on W7 Professional x64.

Thanks for the reply. I'm on a laptop - HP 8730w Elitebook (fully Avid-certified). Will Win7 Pro work?

CorneScheepers:Will Win7 Pro work?
That's problematic to answer at this point, since W7 is not yet certified by Avid. Hopefully that will change soon, but in the meantime, downloading the free trial version is the only way to answer your question.
W7 x64 Ulti. Hp xw8600 8gb Ram. Works Great with no workarounds or tweaks.
I have MC 4.0.5.2 installed and working, very well, on two platforms:
1- HP 8730 w laptop
2-Intel X48 mobo desktop workstation
See my system specs, below.

Win 7 x64 Ultimate with my xw8400 - works like a charm!
Win 7 Ultimate 64, MC4.0.2 Dell Studio XPS i7/920, only issues I had were "permission" issues, had to change permission on folders, works fine.
