    Mixed format timeline - transcode

    Hello,

I'm working in a mixed format timline. Some of the footage is HDV 60i format, and then the rest is transcoded DNxHD145. In the end, I will need to transcode the entire sequence to DNxHD145 to export, when I do this, will it skip all thecurrent DNxHD145 clips, and only transcode the necessary clips left? Thanks.

One way to do this is to put a copy of your final sequence into a bin by itself. Then from the fast menu on the bin choose "Set Bin Display" and then tick the "Show reference clips" option.

Now you can see all the clips in your sequence, so sort them according to resolution, select all the HDV ones and transcode those.

You could also tick the "Rendered effect" box so you can see the resolution of any render files in the timeline. If there are lots of rendered files at HDV resolution you can mark in/out points around your timeline, right-click and choose "clear renders" and then you can re-render the effects after you've transcoded the footage.

    cheers

Got it, thanks Campbell. I'll give it a go then when I finish the sequence. That's definitely gonna be a time saver.
