Anyone experiencing a lag or delay when hitting the dissolve key or the dissolve button before the dialog box opens?

It's kinda like when you stub your pinky toe, you don't realize how much you rely on it!

I've noticed that on 3.1.2 with complex sequences. I'm not sure what causes it (although I have a few uneducated guesses), but I just recently learned a trick that makes the dissolve dialog box obsolete and that I use exclusively now so that I don't have to wait while Avid figures out where I want to add a dissolve:

In Steve Cohen's screencast on transition preservation, I learned that if you go into trim mode you can instantly add a dissolve there by typing a number into the text box at the bottom of the record-side monitor. Next to that is a button to change the alignment of the dissolve. So all the same functionality of the dissolve dialog box is right there in trim mode, and it works much quicker. I have no idea how long that feature's been around, but I'm using it in 3.1.2 all the time now and love it.
