Hello
I am looking for a plug that does composite mode like in Photoshop or FCP. Profound Effects had one but they have disappeared. Does anyone know where I can find another one?Thank you
You can find the Profound one at:

I used that Profound Effects plugin for years on a PC Adrenaline, but have never been able to get it to work on a Mac with MC 3.5.
Has anyone had any luck getting it work recently?
Matt
Actually, just tried it myself and nither the RT version or the Non-realtime version will appear in the Effects Palette once installed.
Shame.
Thanks everyone. Profound Effects does not work for me either. Profound abandoned many effects when AVX 2 effects came out. They had a great system that I bought, that aloowed you to use after effects filters in Avid. That was a great loss.
Hi,
Depending on what look you're trying to accomplish, the paint effect might help. Put one shot on V1 and the second on V2 and drop a paint effect on V2. In Effect Mode, draw a rectangle shape over the whole picture, and then choose a blending mode from the drop down menu in the Effect Editor.
good luck,Carl

I find that the Composite Mode integrates shots so smoothly & naturally and above all, easily, something I don't find with the Avid alternatives.
if you have AvidFX, apply an "AvidFX Filter" to your upper track and, over in AvidFX interface, on the Control pane, under Composite tab, choose from "Apply Mode" the one you want.
It would be great if Avid would natively implement this function in the "Superimpose" effect ("Blend" category), as well as to Title/Marquee tools.
Best regards,

I think that Avid FX is only available on PC. Can't see a Mac reference to it.
It comes with the full MC pack, for PC and for Mac too, AFAIK.
IMHO it shoult come as standard setting in Effec Editor.

Avid FX is essentially Boris Red rebranded, and I think he is corerct in that Avid only bundles it with the PC. Boris Red will run on the Mac though and will install into other hosts such as Adobe After Effects.

I am on a Mac and have Avid FX. Came bundled with 3.0

I don't think it used to be but I could just be losing my mind.
Thanks for sharing, now I know.
I've been web upgrading my MC since god knows when so I don't get all the extra disk stuff. I'll try & find someone that has bought a MC 3. I know it was not in the MC 2.
Many thanks.
Probably not much help to you (if you've been downloading updates) but the same effect is in the standard BCC effects > BCC Color & Blurs > BCC Composite. Also has the benefit of you not needing to learn a new UI.
