    Undocumented Bonuses in MC3.5

Been playing with the 3.5 trial a little (now, I imagine like many indies, isn't a great time to be splashing out on an upgrade that is no doubt even pricier to Australians). Thought I'd start a thread with some of the nice little things I've noticed so far that Avid hasn't mentioned, and see if anyone else has found any.

-No more asking if it's okay to disable desktop composition every time, see here

-No longer need to override your OpenGL version string to 1.5 with newer drivers, see here for why that sucked

-I THINK they've finally fixed the JVC HDV file import issue - in the few tests I've done audio seems to be in sync again. To be confirmed. If so that's actually a really big one - simplifies the currently ridiculous 720p25 workflow quite a lot.

    Anyone found anything else?

Swil, are you trying to make me look foolish?    ( Smile just kidding!)

I just posted a message that said that we don't see people posting positive things as much as negative stuff.
Then you pop up and say something positive....... Yes

Thank you for starting this positive thread.
I am sorry I can't post anything from 3.5 yet, as I haven't gotten round to installing it.
But when I do get round to it, and I do find some nice extras I will post them here in your thread!

    Regards,
    Douglas

Please let this be true! And let us know... I'd pay for it. Although since I bought a copy of 3 and another assurance to upgrade a copy of 2.7 specifically because support for jvc 720p was announced I could feel- no! close that door!
For that is the road to bitterness! Great news, if confirmed.

Another nice feature is that MC3.5 informs you at startup about GPU driver mismatches. For example: I run nvidia GPU driver 176.53, supported is 169.47 so MC complaints about it at start up AND I can just click it away.

So it'll solve a lot of "newbie"-questions about that problem from the start. Not a real editing feature, but could be helpful to a lot of people.

    overall a good release, Yes , g_f

P.S.: does anyone know a way to turn this of? I am happy with 176.53 and now I know where to start debugging my system if video errors occur.

That's odd, I don't have the right driver and Avid doesn't say a word. Which is fine with me :)
